“My life is in your hands.”
Psalm 31:15 (CEV)
When David wrote these words, he was surrounded by enemies and facing circumstances beyond his control. Yet instead of giving in to fear, he chose to trust God. David understood that while he could not control his situation, God could.
In moments of uncertainty, opposition, or distress, our natural response is often anxiety. But Scripture calls us to a different response: surrender. We may not understand what is happening around us, but we can rest in the truth that God remains sovereign over every season of life.
Whether in times of joy or sorrow, success or failure, health or sickness, abundance or lack, God is faithfully at work. As Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”
Nothing in the believer’s life is outside God’s knowledge and care. When our lives are in His hands, we are protected by His power, guided by His wisdom, and sustained by His grace.
A child walking through a crowded street feels secure while holding a father’s hand. The child may not know the way, but the father does. In the same way, we may not know what tomorrow holds, but we know the One who holds tomorrow.
David’s declaration, “My times are in Your hand,” was a statement of complete trust. It is a reminder for every believer today: when we cannot control our circumstances, we can trust the God who controls all things.
Takeaway:
You do not know what tomorrow holds, but you know the God who holds your tomorrow.
